SIA “Fortsuno” provides recommendations based on information provided by the client, identifies the client’s requirements and needs, and supplies objective information about the insurance product in an understandable way to enable the client to make an informed decision.

When offering an insurance-based investment product, SIA “Fortsuno” does not provide recommendations regarding the product itself or investment strategies.

Complaints and Dispute Handling

In accordance with APIL Sections 46 and 47, SIA “Fortsuno” reviews complaints and disputes between the insurance intermediary and the client under its Complaint Handling Procedure.

SIA “Fortsuno” is a certified insurance brokerage company registered in the insurance and reinsurance broker register maintained by the Bank of Latvia, as can be verified on www.bank.lv.

SIA “Fortsuno” operates in the distribution of insurance in the name and interests of the client.

SIA “Fortsuno” ensures that clients can receive insurance-related information electronically via the email address provided by the client.

SIA “Fortsuno” does not have any direct or indirect participation in any insurance company or branch of a foreign insurer established in Latvia that exceeds 10% of the voting shares or capital.

No insurance company, its parent company, or foreign insurer operating in Latvia holds direct or indirect participation in SIA “Fortsuno” exceeding 10% of voting shares or capital.

SIA “Fortsuno” does not have contractual obligations to distribute insurance solely on behalf of any particular insurance company or foreign insurer.

Remuneration

SIA “Fortsuno” receives remuneration in the form of a commission, calculated as a percentage of the insurance premium collected. This remuneration is included in the insurance premium.

Sustainability Risk Integration in Insurance Advice

When offering insurance-based investment products, SIA “Fortsuno” does not provide recommendations regarding the product or investment strategies. Taking into account the client’s needs, interests, and preferences related to sustainability factors and the integration of sustainability risk—when these are communicated to the Broker—Fortsuno helps clients choose the most appropriate product. In evaluating the impact of the product on sustainability and the integration of sustainability risks, Fortsuno relies on information provided by the insurer.

Fortsuno has not aligned its remuneration policies with the integration of sustainability risks, to comply with the restriction in Section 33(4) of the APIL, which prohibits linking remuneration systems to sales targets or other factors that could incentivize employees to recommend a particular insurance product over one better suited to the client’s interests.

  • Fortsuno supervises employees involved in insurance distribution to prevent involvement in corruption or bribery.
